Last week I was able to post three new prints in both of my shops. Two were a series and one was a fall inspired piece.
The “Cheerful Garden’ Series is much more bright and colorful than many of my other prints. I’m pretty sure I was seeing summer come to a close, which meant the last of the garden flower images came out of my mind and onto those canvases. They were made with a sunlight-filled garden in mind, but now when I look at both of them I see a coral reef scene. Funny how that happened. I can also say I was inspired by some artists’ work I’ve been viewing that is full of electric, almost neon colors.
For me, I would imagine these prints being perfect in a child’s bedroom or in a bathroom. Or a garden theme room? Where ever they may be displayed, they will bring lots of cheer!
There is no doubt I felt the autumn bug when I created this painting. It is that great combination of burnt orange with vibrant gold hues. I love it! I could see having it framed in a hallway and changing out the print seasonally. Come to think of it, I’m not sure why I don’t do that more often. Museums certainly rotate their pieces around, why shouldn’t we rotate our artwork? Hmm… something to think about.
On another note, I’m preparing another print as I type this and hopefully it will be up late this morning. I’ll twitter it out once I’ve put it for sale in the shops. It’s by far my favorite ‘painting made into a print.’
