New in the Shop: ‘Turquoise and Gray’ print

It’s been a busy few days around here, but I am happy to say that I have a new print up as well as one on the way.

This new print is everything wonderful that I love in a painting. The aqua/turquoise/mint green/gray composition is in a landscape position, which always plays tricks on my mind. I wasn’t thinking of creating an ocean scene while I was painting the artwork, but in the end, I can’t keep my mind from seeing swirling waves and a windy, wispy sky. My husband, he switches between seeing a beach with churning waves or an arctic ocean complete with icebergs.

Perhaps you see something completely different in the painting. That’s why I love abstracts.

Well, one of the many reasons, at least.

Abstracts lay out colors, composition and design and asks if you like them. Sometimes it’s yes and other times it’s no. It’s all personal preference.

There are even times when I simply see brushstrokes and read nothing into a painting. I know (gasp!), but It’s true – I’m just keeping things honest around here.

That’s what art’s all about.

Now for this painting above, my heart says, ‘Oh I love you and I have the perfect spot next to my desk to place you.’

Or perhaps above the sofa.

Or in the dining room.

Did I mention that I truly love this painting?

I hope you had a fantastic week and thanks for stopping by; I appreciate it!
